Red inherited magical powers from her grandmother, but every time she tries her magic, it seems to backfire and ends in mayhem. When her grandmother becomes very ill, Red has to go on a quest with her new friend, Goldie, to find a magical object to save her grandmother; however, no one knows anything about the object she needs to find–only that it exists. Along the way, she meets and befriends a wolf who is being followed by a huntsman. The wolf requests her help, but Red hesitates as it may lead her astray from finding the needed object to save her grandmother from death.
